Health issues causes me to part with my favorite machine. It is a very good aircraft and
had a lot spent on it to keep it looking and feeling like a low hour aircraft. Those that have flown it or ridden in it will attest to that. I have owned it most of the last 20 years McCombs and Jack Hawkins are familiar with the airplane as is Michael Barr. I am confident they would be happy to give you their opinion of the aircraft condition.
The financial climate being what it is I know I won’t get anywhere near what I have in it so am pricing it accordingly at $85,000.

RV-8 Project
RV-8 Fastback and engine for sale. I indicated in that email that I felt the airframe was worth about $50,000, and the engine and prop are worth around $20,000. I also indicated that I was negotiable. Well it is still for sale and I am still negotiable. If there is anyone out there who is remotely interested here is the bottom line:
I will sell the entire project for $53,000!
Here is what is included:
1. Completed airframe. The airframe will be completed with the wings installed, fairings fitted, controls working, etc. There are no instruments, wiring, plumbing, paint or upholstery. The canopy kit is installed and will be finished but without paint.
2. IO-360-A1A Lycoming certified engine. This engine has around 80 hours since a Major Overhaul. It was installed and flown in my Acrosport II. The engine has been in dry storage for the past 5 years and has not run. I will guarantee the engine to satisfy your inspection. You can have your mechanic remove cylinders and inspect the engine internally. If there is anything found deficient you are not obligated to buy it. I will be willing to re-negotiate or call off the deal at your discretion.
3. Constant Speed prop. This prop is currently a certified prop. It does have an AD which does not have to be complied with on an experimental aircraft. The AD requires tear down and inspection every 50 hours. I have been told that this was really a means of selling more props. It goes with the deal, you do what you want with it.
4. Pair of Electronic Ignitions. I bought these from Lloyd Remus. The engine has two magnetos at this time which go with the deal. I was going to use one of the electronic ignitions and one of the magnetos. You can do what you wish.
You all know that the quality of workmanship on this airplane is excellent! This has the potential to be a very nice and very fast and very economical RV-8. The fastback kit gives it a look that is very clean and streamlined. I wish I had the time to finish the airplane and sell it as a flying RV, but just don’t. Everything is negotiable. I simply want to sell this project and go on. The airplane is currently hangared at Meadow Lake.
Call me and let’s talk. I would really like to see this airplane stay on the field, but if there is no interest here, then I will try Trade-a-Plane, Barnstormers, and Ebay.
I should also mention that this airplane could be finished for a reasonable cost in a very professional manner. There are other advantages to buying this project in this stage that we can talk about in person.
